Even some foods that seem to be "healthy" are actually loaded with artificial additives, and unnecessary preservatives that are harmful to your health. Here are 10 alimentos no saludables (unhealthy foods) that you'd better avoid eating.
1. Soft Drinks
Soft drinks have been proved to raise the risks of diabetes and heart disease. The reason is their high sugar content. And you should stay away from light soft drinks, since they have high phosphorus levels, which can harm the kidneys and induce calcium loss in the urine, weakening your bones.
2. Bacon & Sausages
Bacon and sausages are processed red meats, which usually contain high saturated fat. There will be high levels of advanced glycosylation end products produced during the process of drying, smoking, and cooking. Furthermore, the nitrates and nitrites in cured meats can turn into carcinogenic nitrosamines under high temperature. You can select the uncured meats that only use salt instead of nitrites.
3. Sugary Cereal
There is no way to sugarcoat the fact that sugar is harmful for human body. Overeating of white sugar can lead to obesity, which usually results in more health issues including diabetes and heart disease. A bowl of sugary cereal contains more sugar than a cream donut! What's worse, butylated hydroxytoluene or butylated hydroxyanisole in many popular varieties are prohibited in some countries and regarded as carcinogenic substances.
4. White Breads
In general, white breads are made from gluten-containing wheat, which is not ideal for people with celiac disease. Actually, many boxed breads are unhealthy, even for those who can tolerate gluten. The refined wheat flour is high in calories, low in nutrition and promotes the rise of blood sugar. You can eat whole wheat breads instead.
5. French Fries
Although French fries are delicious, they also contain a lot of calories, salt, and oil. They have a high MSG content, which has been related to tachycardia, migraines, and headaches. Your body will much appreciate it if you keep from these deep fried potatoes. Eating apples or vegetable sticks will be a better choice.
6. High Fat Sauces
Scientists say that the taste of fat is acquired day after day. Mayonnaise, salad dressing, and other condiments are high in saturated fat. Even a small amount of them contain a lot of calories, so it's best to stay away from them completely.
7. Alcoholic Drinks
A little wine or beer can be good for your heart, but excessive alcohol consumption will lead to diseases such as brain damage, dementia, depression, stomach ulcers, liver cirrhosis, liver cancer. Additionally, your body will store the empty calories contained in alcohol and may get you overweight.
8. Low Fat Yogurt

10. Fruit Beverage
Some people may think the fruit beverage are healthy, but it's not completely right. There are actually contain much more sugar than antioxidants and vitamins. The amount of sugar is almost the same as other soft drinks. It's healthier to make fresh juice at home.
