These days, it's impossible to imagine the title of this timeless film being anything other than Dirty Dancing. However, many film industry professionals and censorship officials believed the title "Dirty Dancing" to be too suggestive and to suggest a filthy film.

They therefore choose to rename it I Was a Teenage Mambo Queen. Thankfully, the authors refused, and the name stuck. We are very happy it did since it's undoubtedly a lot catchier!
