Fortunately, here we’ve got you covered with some easy and simple DIY tricks you can use to clean and restore your deck to its former glory. Not only will your wood deck look as good as new, but keeping it clean could help it to last longer too. Get ready to spend more time enjoying the sunshine and less time scrubbing away at stains!
Use a mixture of warm water and dish soap
Before you start cleaning, it's important to remove any furniture, planters, or other items from your deck. This will give you plenty of space to work with and prevent any damage to your belongings.
Mix about a gallon of warm water with a tablespoon of dish soap and stir well, then grab a soft-bristled brush and start scrubbing! Be sure to work in small sections to ensure that the solution doesn't dry out. Don't forget the top of the deck railing too! Once you've finished scrubbing, turn your garden hose to its most powerful setting and rinse away all that dirt and mildew. You can really see the difference between the dirty and cleaned sections of the deck here. This is after just a few minutes of light scrubbing!
