Rick Springfield, originally known as Richard Lewis Springthorpe, is a multi-talented Australian artist who has excelled as a singer, instrumentalist, songwriter, actor, and author. After his stint with the pop rock group Zoot from 1969 to 1971, Springfield embarked on a successful solo career. In 1972, he made his solo debut with the single "Speak to the Sky" before relocating to the United States. His remarkable musical talent garnered him a Grammy Award for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance in 1981 for his chart-topping hit "Jessie's Girl." Springfield continued his success with four more top hits in the following years, solidifying his presence in the U.S. music scene.

Springfield began acting and from 1981 to 1983 appeared as Dr. Noah Drake on the daytime program General Hospital. After 23 years, Springfield later made a comeback to the program and his prior function. To commemorate the show's 50th anniversary, Springfield made a comeback in 2005, again in 2008, and once more in 2012 and 2013. The singer appeared as Vince Vincente in the CW television series Supernatural's 12th season in 2016. Springfield and his wife Barbara Porter have two children together, Liam and Joshua, and have been married since 1984.
