Hasselhoff may have become well-known for his work on The Young and the Restless, but his most recognizable television performances are from the four-year run of Knight Rider and his portrayal of L.A. County Lifeguard Mitch Buchannon in the Baywatch series. He was known as "The Hoff," and from 1990 until the conclusion of the show's run in 2001, he produced Baywatch, setting a Guinness World Record for the most viewed man on television.

Hasselhoff reprised his role as "Snapper" on The Young and the Restless in mid-June 2010, however in recent years he has mostly been on reality television shows like Dancing with the Stars and America's Got Talent. He even created his own reality TV program called The Hasselhoffs with his two daughters, but it was canceled after just two episodes. In 2006, he divorced his second wife, the mother of his children, and both of his daughters were placed in his custody.
