Who Wears Short Shorts?
In 2009, Newsweek decided to grace their cover with a photo of Sarah Palin sporting bike shorts. The former Vice Presidential candidate was less than pleased with the choice, and she took to Facebook to air her grievances.
Palin argued that the photo was taken for a Runner's World magazine profile focusing on health and fitness, a topic near and dear to her heart. She felt that Newsweek had taken the image out of context, portraying it in a sexist manner that was oh-so-expected from them.
In her response, Palin cleverly reminded everyone not to judge a book by its cover, gender, or even the color of skin. Clearly, she believed that Newsweek had missed the mark and failed to capture the essence of her dedication to health and fitness.
